The Cardinal

      The red-plumaged, high-crested
songbird    "carinalis    cardinalis"
(cardinal)  was  adopted in 1933  by
the General Assembly as the official
state bird.
Our mission is to celebrate Ashtabula's and Ohio's Bicentennial.  We also intend to help make Ohio and Ashtabula a more  beautiful and better place to live by helping  citizens take pride in their  community. Ohio became a state in 1803 and  Ashtabula's  first permanent  settler  settled  in  Ashtabula in June 1803.
